Central office records series, 1939-1962.

The Central Office records series is comprised of four subseries. The John S. Bugas records subseries, 1944-1945 (0.4 cubic ft.), Acc. 599, contains correspondence, memorandums, departmental communications, court hearing transcripts, and telegrams regarding the Mead Senate Committee regarding non-utilization of manpower and production facilities in the Detroit area; an Automotive Council Statement by George Romney to the Senate War Investigating Committee; and an Automotive Council for War Production appraisal of post-war reconversion. The Employee Services Department records subseries, 1939-1956 (1.6 cubic ft.) contains two accessions. Accession 626 includes information about insurance benefits and retirement plans for Ford Motor Company employees. Accession 928 contains booklets about hobbies, money management, physical health, mental health, taxes, voting and other useful tips for everyday living which were distributed by the Employee Information Rack Services. The booklets are arranged alphabetically by title. The Suggestion Programs Section records subseries, 1952-1954 (0.4 cubic ft.), Acc. 436, includes flow charts, newsletters, pamphlets and a procedures manual about the employee suggestion plan and the management proposal plan. The Training Department records subseries, 1954-1962 (0.4 cubic ft.), Acc. 699, contains booklets designed for the basic management training program, the college graduate recruitment program, and the Ford graduate training program covering major aspects of daily operations at Ford Motor Company including accounting, advertising, engineering, financial analysis, labor relations, legal matters, management, manufacturing processes, personnel administration, product planning, production, public relations, purchasing and taxes.
